Taraba: Body Count Begins

Dante said a very long and quiet time ago that a big flame follows a little spark.

Nigeria gets more convoluted daily as 8 people have died in Wukari, Taraba state on Saturday. The clashes came as a backlash of the 'sacking of the governor' by the elections tribunal.

One of the raft of reasons the current government of Nigeria came to power is that it boasted that it would end insecurity.  But since coming to power the government has done useful things  in that direction.

The government is yet to be fully formed but it has somehow made more enemies of its people than friends. In more ways than one
If anything, the APC government has created avenue that make violence somewhat imperative.

First the elections petitions tribunal:

For some reason, this government thinks that a one party state,APC is this case is what Nigeria needs .So elections that were obviously won by what is now the opposition are cancelled by the tribunal in the most invidious ways.
In Rivers and Akwa Ibom for example, the APC score a trickle of votes on March 28 and April 11. Why?
Those areas are simply PDP strong holds

New York and California typically vote democrats for God's sake.

The reason that the Old Gongola state was split into Adamawa and Taraba was because the latter is predominantly christian, in other words for the sake of peace.

We wrote last week that these cancellations are a waste of time and money. They would also waste lives as the annulment is  perceived as injustice.

This government is not the best crises managers if only because it has too many advisers.

The government should mend fences instead of coming across as a conquering army.
