Phil Collins: Goodbye Forever

By Ogoo "Mojimo" uzoma

Hilarious. We need comic relief in this world and some random guy in the UK called Brian Pee (Pee? Is that even a real name) has provided it this week. The joke is centered around Phil Collins, one of UK's most celebrated musicians.
Phil recently told Rolling Stone (magazine) that he was "no longer officially retired" from music and that he plans on returning to the business "fairly" soon.
But it seems some of his fans had enough of him and have signed a petition to stop him. 2500 signatures were needed to prevent such a terrible thing from happening and Brian Pee got way more than the requirement. The change.org document appears to be addressed to the United Nations.

The "Phil Collins must be stopped" petition has sparked funny comments from fans and... Um...former fans alike.

"Phil Collins has announced he is 'no longer in retirement'. There is far too much suffering in the world as it is. This must be stopped", Pee writes. Some people were nice enough to explain why they signed the document :
"I struggled for years with addiction to Phil Collins's music," wrote Greg Stone of the U.K. "Just take a look at me now." Pun intended I'm sure. Don't you just love the British devilish sense of humour?
Iain Forbes, also of the U.K., was less selfish in his reasoning for signing. "For the children. Will not anyone think of the children?!"

The cheek of these people. I really hope Phil finds out about this and has a good laugh too.
Aaron Mercier of Austin, Texas posted on his twitter page "When I was a child, Phil Collins gave a concert on a campus near my home. I could hear his weird pervy groans in my bedroom. It kept me up half the night and caused my rhythm-related organs to atrophy, and to this day, I can't dance".
Many people who signed get that it's a joke. The funniest part is people all around the world who actually took this thing seriously.

Pee has however taken the petition down admitting the whole thing was just a “silly joke” that got out of hand.
