Don Jazzy And D'Banj Reunion

By Ogoo "Mojimo" Uzoma

Although D’Banj has shown enthusiasm about the idea of a possible reunion with Don Jazzy and continues to let out hint after hint in interviews (yaaaay! If only), Don Jazzy has displayed reluctance. Don Jazzy flatly refused to go up on stage to join Tuface Idibia and D’banj for a song at Tuface’s 40th birthday celebrations in September, 2015. Tuface added his plea for a reunion to those of millions of fans within and outside Africa . Lets just hope he was shy.

Speaking at a press conference this week , Don Jazzy responding to another question about a reunion had this to say, “Of course I will work with D’banj. But we’ve been too busy. He’s travelling to a lot of places and I’m working with my artistes. But we will work together.”

Uh..when?

The now defunct Mo’Hits Records was founded by Don Jazzy and D’banj in 2004 and gave birth to hit after hits like “Tongolo”, Why Me”, “Fall in Love” among several others. D’banj left the label in 2012 because of what was cited as “difference in interests” and the partnership was dissolved.

There was a chemistry between those two guys that was the reason such a successful run and it was a disappointment to fans to see them part ways. D’banj is optimistic and Don Jazzy is...erm…somewhat optimistic. So fingers crossed, yeah?
